Dental Implants

Last Full Mouth X-Ray: 6 Months back
Case Description
My periodontist lifted the sinus and placed implant on the same day. I am not sure of technical terms what procedure he did. But the way he did is, he was tapping on the bone and performed the lifting. After that (same day) he drilled into bone and placed implant.

When Implant was inside of the gum, I did not feel any pain and 3 months passed away. When he put the abutment and crown, I started noticing discomfort and slowly becoming pain too. Initially I thought root canal needs to be done one next to that. Root canal is performed one next to that. No sings of losing the pain. As usual and still pain and discomfort.

Not sure what is problem at this point. Spent too much money on Implant, Sinus Lifting, and Root Canal. Any help would be great. Living in Chicago.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Dear Implant Patient,

In order to see if we can help you out of pain we would need to view your full mouth xrays and do an examination to evaluate occlusion, restorations and therapies already completed. This one hour visit if you bring in xrays would be $75.00. If you would like to schedule this appointment to see if we can help you out of discomfort please call at 312-654-0606. Ask for Tina or Jamie our treatment coordinators.

Sorry about your troubles. I would like to start my reply by sharing that I perform sinus lifts, implant placement, implant crown, chewing surface leveling and balanceing (occlusal adjustments), and root canal therapy. I have been practicing for 20+ years. Unfortunately, your situation is quite complicated. There are many posible reasons for the pain you are having and it may or may not be the fault of the dental team. Sorry to be so vague but its a good idea to have a consult at this point and maybe a CT scan. Obviously answering your Q on the internet with out seeing you would be bad advise. Also would be nice to know the type of bone grafting and/or % mix that was used for the sinus lift.

Cost Estimate: $Complimentary exam and Consultation, 99.00 for x-rays
Dear Patient,

I understand your concern, and would be glad to be of help to you. The best way to start is to have an evaluation by either a periodontist or oral surgeon who is experieced in these type of procedures and problems that could occur with such procedures. When you come in for the evaluation bring any x-rays you have. New x-rays and possible CT scan will be needed in order to help with determining what the problem is. You may contact us at (847) 685-6686 to schedule an evaluation. My consultation is complimentary, and fee for the x-ray is 99.00

Sincerely,

Dr. Anasinski
