When I scheduled my appointment, I mentioned that I hadn't been to a dentist in three years due to a bad experience with my last dentist. Upon my arrival, Dr. Silberman made a point of asking me about my past experience and proceeded to give me a thorough exam, explaining everything as he went along and continually checking to ensure that I was comfortable. I typically dread x-rays but had no problem with the smaller, round digital material Dr. Silberman used. I first started with Dr. Silberman about a month ago. He did a very through initial exam and talked over his recommendations for future procedures. He took both digital xrays and digital photos with a special microscope. This was great because he can show you right away whats happening with your teeth and what he would want to do to fix any problems.

A few weeks ago I had a cleaning which was mostly painless and very through. The hygienist was very friendly.

Yesterday I had a cavity filling done and it was by far the least painful filling I've ever had (out of five). I could also tell that he was very committed to making sure everything was just right in terms of getting out all the decay and making the shape of the filling just right.

He has a great chair-side manner and is very friendly and calm. I think that he would be considered slightly expensive but I think it's worth the cost because he really does have the best and newest technology (nothing I've ever seen before). Plus he can handle everything from cleanings and fillings to cosmetic work. Overall a great dentist and office that I'm very happy with. Highly recommend.

Great confidence in Dr. Silberman. Have had some root canals and crowns over the years; always confident that he will do what is necessary and useful, not extra procedures. Willing to "wait and see" if something isn't critical, but has also caught subtle problems like decay underneath a filling. See him incorporating the latest practices in his practice. In 1994 moved to Gurnee, but still travel to Evanston for dental work because of my confidence in him (started seeing him when I lived in Evanston). I have had a number of procedures: crowns, root canals, Invisilign teeth straightening, whitening, two (molar) implants and, most recently gum surgery (actually performed by an associate of his) and installation of ten veneers. He did absolutely beautiful work -- he improved my smile enormously without making it look in any way artificial. I couldn't be more pleased with the result.

I went through many dentists before I found Dr. Silberman on recommendation from a friend. I have stuck with him because he has a rare combination of excellent dental skills, professional manner, and the ability to put my family and me at ease. This is the best dentist in Evanston and worth driving (or taking the el) from Chicago. Kind, funny, painless. He keeps very up to date on his skills and has allt he new technology to keep your teeth in tip top shape (digital x-rays, some microscope-glasses thing to see every bit of your mouth, white fillings). My first visit was just a consultation. He addressed my concerns and covered all the bases previous dentists had ignored. I felt very comfortable. Ask a question, get an answer. Dr. Silberman is the best dentist! I have never liked going to the dentist and had many cavities as a child. Dr. Silberman has done 13 porcelain crowns and one root canal over the years. He uses state of the art equipment and has all the newest digital computerized stuff. My teeth are beautiful and I have confidence that if I take care of these crowns they will last a long time. While he is drilling, I get to listen to tunes that I request and then he downloads to an IPod. He has great chair-side manner and always takes an interest in what is going on in my life. His fees are not cheap (I do have dental insurance), but the quality of his work is exceptional. The whole atmosphere at his office is great!

My whole family goes to Dr. Joe from my 3 year old girl to my 95 year old grandmother. Dr. Joe and his staff are thorough and efficient and very friendly. It's a state-of-the-art office and I'm particularly happy to say that my children look forward to their dentist visits. They enjoy learning about their teeth and especially enjoy the magic tricks and trips to the treasure chest.

Dr. Silberman is absolutely wonderful! He is possibly the best dentist I have ever been to - I had always been very anxious and quite afraid of dental work in general - the first visit was so thorough! He checked for mouth cancer, he checked my old dental work, was very gentle and kind...he has cutting edge technology in his office which proves he is always looking to improve and hone his already superior skills.

After 34 years of regular dental care from various dental professionals - he was the only one who saw immediately that I grind my teeth - which had resulted in a dull never ending headache that I just accepted as part of life never really knowing what caused it - with his knowledge and experience he saw this, made a simple fix of giving me a bite splint and I haven't had that headache since -pain free for 6 years!!! Needless to say - I HIGHLY reccommend Dr. Silberman - my entire family (in-laws included) have been Dr. Silberman's patients....

About Hygienist: Jennifer is a great hygienist - she is quick, gentle and fun! Like an old friend that you see only 2x year. Both my kids have been Jenn's patients and she has had great success with them - they are not fond of getting their teeth cleaned but she makes it happen without incident...

Dr. Silberman is the only dentist I recommend. And i recommend him very highly. I have had standard dental work done as well as an implant. Everything was completed thoroughly and with care and concern for my welfare.

Dr. Silberman frequently calls us during the evening after a major procedure to see how we are doing. He has come in on a Saturday to help a friend of ours whose dentist was out of town.

He is very interested in keeping up on the latest developments in dentistry.

Fixed my tooth easily after two other dentists recommended oral surgery. Highly skilled and well informed on the most modern advances in the field. Hygenists were also very skilled and the secretary couldn't be more helpful. Overall very good experience, however, it would be helpful if they collected payment from the insurance company directly.

From the time you walk into Dr. Silberman's office until you leave, you receive first-class treatment by every member of the staff. I have high standards concerning where I spend my health-care dollars and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Silberman's meticulous work, and the warm care I recieve at each visit. Everyione in the office is personable and good at what they do. I would not hesitate to recommend this office to anyone seeking a good dental office.

I gave Dr. Silberman a try when my former dentist moved out of state. I had read an article that described how Dr. Silberman uses a microscope to view the teeth he is working on because he wanted to really be able to see what he was doing. That impressed me and I was comfortable with Dr. Silberman (and the rest of the office staff) from the first visit.. Last year, he made me my first crown--which I was nervous about. He did a great job and has compassion for the nervous patient.t. Dr. Silberman also has a great sense of humor and we have shared quite a few laughs while he worked on my teeth.

In short, Dr. S rates 4 stars from me.
